Ethereum killers suffer great losses

This week, Bitcoin lost only approximately 1.56 percent, but Ethereum dropped 9.9 percent to $1,780.

As of this writing, many so-called Ethereum killers, also known as Tier 1 blockchains with smart contracts, were among the greatest losers: Cardano was down 13% to $0.46, Avalanche was down 19% to $23.53, Algorand was down 14% to $0.36, NEAR was down 17% to $4.87, and Solana was down 15% to $42.

Cosmos, which differs from Ethereum in that it is a network of many tiny blockchains with highly effective smart contracts, also declined 12 percent to $9.55.

Other notable losses among the top 40 cryptocurrencies this week include:

  • – Flow’s 13 percent drop to $2.39;
  • – ApeCoin’s 19 percent drop to $6.31;
  • – Decentraland’s 12 percent drop to $0.95;
  • – Internet Computer’s 10 percent drop to $7.11;
  • – Flow’s 13 percent drop to $2.
  • – Elrond falling 25% to $68.88.
