The new Ryzen 3 7420U will be available to all laptop and Chromebook users


During Computex Taipei 2022, AMD announced the release of budget Ryzen and Athlon 7000 processors codenamed Mendocino. With these devices, you can use a Windows notebook or Chromebook, as well as access the Internet. The new generation Mendocino will include AMD Ryzen 3 7420U, Athlon Gold 7230 U processors and Athlon Style 7020U processors.

At the moment, details about Ryzen 3 7420U are known, which will have 4 physical cores and 8 virtual threads.It should be noted that the processors here will be built on the AMD Nen 2 architecture, and the video core will be based on the RDNA2 architecture. AMD Mendocino processor will support up to 32 GB of RAM, as well as support for VP9 and AV1 video encoding.After AMD’s Computex show, AMD announced that the Mendocino will be released in the fourth quarter ofthis year and solutions based on them will be released by the end of this year. AMD Mendocino will be available in laptops in the price range of $399 to $699.
